Hi, I’m Sue Bonzell with Terra Firma Global Partners in Sebastopol, and a lot of times people will call me up and say, “Okay, I’m ready to list my house, can we put it on the market today?” Well, as much as I’d really love to do that, there are a few things we really need to take care of to make sure that your house is ready to go on the market to get you top dollar.
Number one is just go through your house and put away some of the clutter. Any of the things that are on your tabletops, your countertops, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, put those things away. And if you’re planning on moving anyway it’s a good time to start packing and get a jump on it. Put away as much as you can that is visible and out. It’ll really de-clutter everything and make your house look bigger.
Next thing you’re going to want to do is hire a professional cleaning company to come in and clean it head to toe, and I know you’re a very good housekeeper, I get it, but a cleaning company really is going to get the nitty-gritty and even do the windows, is a good idea. It’s going to make it show a lot better. There’s a few other things we need to do to get your house ready for the market and I’m going to talk about those in my next video.
