Hi. It’s Sue Bonzell with Terra Firma Global Partners. If you are a homeowner and you’re thinking about doing some repairs on your home, maybe you’ve received a home inspection or some kind of report prior to putting your home on the market and you want to make some repairs or there are some things that need to be taken care of, I am going to highly suggest that you hire a super qualified bonded, licensed, insured vendors for any of those repairs. Get everything in writing, get receipts for everything.

I have seen people who called up their uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, friend, some guy, neighbor, whatever, who said, “Yeah, I can fix that for you.” Came out, fixed it, didn’t do it to code, it was done incorrectly, turned into be a big mess once they went to sell the home. And those buyers came in with their inspectors and said, “This is not done right, we want a credit because it was done incorrectly.” You really just need to use qualified, licensed, insured vendors for all of the repairs that you’re going to be making on your property and that goes for people that are buyers.

If you’re a buyer and you’re planning on doing any repairs when you come in as a new homeowner, make sure you get those qualified vendors. I have an entire list of super qualified, awesome vendors that I use on a regular basis. If you’d like to get that list, you can visit my website sue.wpengine.com.
