Hi, it’s Sue Bonzell with Terra Firma Global Partners in Sebastopol and a lot of times I get people asking me if a swimming pool will add value to their property or if having a swimming pool has a lot of value to a property. And the answer to that question is, it depends on if you like to swim or not. So, for some people, having a swimming pool is very valuable. They love to swim, they use it a lot, they absolutely want to have a pool on their property. For other people, they might say that is an absolute, “Do not want it on my property, don’t want the maintenance, we don’t swim, might be too dangerous for smaller children,” various things like that. So they might say, “It has absolutely no value to a property.”

So it really is a matter of opinion when it comes to swimming pools. Of course there’s a little bit of a difference when you’re talking about some of those really luxury properties with the beautiful view. Well, you might want to have an infinity pool, even if you don’t really swim in it, a little bit of ambience. There’s probably a little more value to that. So that’s the skinny on swimming pools. I’m Sue Bonzell with Terra Firma Global Partners.
